TRAX 1000 future-proofs the business

The first of its kind in Denmark

When the scrap shears landed at Brande Metalkøb last week, it was an expectant director who was ready to receive them. The director is Kenneth Weismann, who has run the product trade in Brande since 2015, when he took over from his father, Henning Weismann.

The scrap shear, supplied by Viggo Bendz A/S, has a total fighting weight of 104 tons and is the first of its kind in the country. One of the things that makes this scrap shear special is its caterpillar feet, which create a wealth of new opportunities in the work. From having to move the scrap to the scrap shears, it is now the scrap shears that can move around the site. It may not sound terribly exciting, but in practice it’s an absolute game-changer.

TRAX 1000 – what does it really do?

Delivery and installation

Scrap scissors are not easy to throw around, so the transportation itself is an interesting affair. In this case, it was transported from Belgium by freighter to the port of Esbjerg. From here it was transported on a flatbed truck to the customer.
The machine is so large that it was necessary to transport the cutting head and machine separately. The scrap shears were mounted, installed and ready to go just two days after delivery.
